The Florida Land Rover Club provides activities and information for Land Rover enthusiasts throughout the state of Florida! Our primary goal is to enjoy our Land Rovers by using them for their intended purpose in a fun, family-oriented atmosphere. We sponsor two Rallys per calendar year for some fun camaraderie, a pot luck dinner, camping, trail riding, and one awesome raffle with catered dinner on Saturday night. So plan on packing up the family and heading out for some off-road fun.

Spring Rally Recap

We held our Spring Rally this past April 18-20 in the Richloam track of the Withlacoochee State Forest. We had people from all over the state of Florida and parts of Georgia converge for some off road fun and camaraderie. As with all FLRC Rallies, we try our best to have a schedule. But no matter what, we can never meet any of the times. I just think everyone is having so much fun, they lose track of time.

The forest didn’t let us down this year as the trails were muddy and full of water. We had some trails set for beginners that were closed this year. So in a mad dash to come up with some alterative trails, we ended up with some beginner/intermediate trails that tested our driving abilities to the max. For the advanced -- or should I say extreme -- trail rides, well, I will tell you something I heard someone say, "I have a new level of deep: when water comes through the A/C vents instead of being DHD," (door handle deep), all the while with a smile.

The Friday night potluck seems to be getting bigger (We love the monster tent). And everyone that participated looked to be having fun, and the food was awesome. The night run that followed was a good time for all.

Saturday evening dinner would have been 30 minutes earlier if the driver wasn’t looking for a "Big Purple Barney tent" ( I said "Big Army Tent"!). Anyway, the food was good and we had plenty to go around.

Boy, was this year’s raffle big. A big hand to our sponsors. We had so many wonderful sponsors step up and donate some great products that I think everyone walked out of there with something. When ordering parts from our sponsors, be sure to thank them for their support and please make sure they know you are a Florida Land Rover Club Member.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this year's Spring Rally, and I hope you all made it home safe without incident. Mark your calendars for our Annual Fall Rally that will be upon us in no time, October 24-26, 2008.
