The Florida Land Rover Club is heading to the Osceola National Forest on Saturday May 21st in order to help the forestry service clean up the trails. As we all know and have seen there are some other users of the trails who simply just don't get "it". IT being the fragility not only of the forests we love and use but also the relationship with those who manage our shared forest lands and resources. It really only takes a few instances of off trail destruction, discarded trash and general abuse of the OHV and 4x4 trail systems for the forestry service to shut down access.
We really need a great turnout from all our members and especially North Florida membership. So please come get dirty and clean up the trails!
Saturday May 21st 9:00 am ride and cleanup from 9:30 until 11:30 then Pizza lunch will be provided.
Meet at:
Osceola Ranger District
24874 US Highway 90
OLustee, FL 32072
(386) 752-2577
This is an officially sanctioned ride and is being coordinated with the assistance of the Osceola National Forestry Service. Officer Cason will be leading the ride and will take us to some of the problem areas where our assistance is needed. He promises to show us some good trails!
I am looking forward to this event and hope many of you can attend and make a difference!
