From the President
First, I would like to say thank you one more time to Mike, Gordo, and all the others, who have spent the last two years making the Florida Land Rover Club what it is today. David, Eric, and myself have some huge shoes to fill and we are as equally dedicated to continuing upward momentum.
Over the next year we will strive to bring the club to new levels by:
1. Making the club legal (this increases sponsorship offerings)
2. Increasing membership, with a goal of 100 trucks at the Fall Rally
3. Monthly events and holiday parties
4. Return for investment for all members
5. Trail adoption
6. Increased partnership with local and national 4 wheel drive clubs and Florida based Land Rover dealerships
7. Tenderfoot trail rides
8. Continue to foster positive relationships within the 4x4 community
9. Build new sponsor relationships
10. Increase communication
The club now has three areas that make up the bulk of our members, Jacksonville, Tampa, and Orlando with other members spread out all over the state, and even Georgia. Each of us knows someone who drivers a Rover, so spread the word, we can all work together to increase membership. I just picked up a new stack of business cards to point potential new members to the website. Anyone interested in carrying some cards in their rig to give out to possible new members shoot me an email at stephen@floridalandroverclub.com and I will mail you a few (be sure to include your address).
Also let’s be proud and show your colors. Just off the press the official Florida Land Rover Club stickers are now available. Two versions are available at $7.00 each or $13.00 for two, designed for over the windscreen on Rangies and Discos and rear side windows, available in black or white, (profits go into the club for future events). Pictures coming over the next week or so, but they look HOT!!!!!!! Email me at stephen@floridalandroverclub.com or send a check made out to FLRC to Stephen Peters, 1647, 8th Street, Orlando, Florida, 32820.
Remember to support our sponsors and Tread Lightly.
Whats happening over the next few months:
Ocala Toys for Tots trail ride with possible overnight stay December 16th – 17th. Be sure to bring a new unwrapped toy for the less fortunate in our communities. More to follow on the BB, keep a watch out.
As a member of the FLRC you are also a member of the Florida Four Wheel Drive Association, let’s show some strength and blow out their annual rally. Great time and a good group of people, plus it always feels great to out drive the jeeps and other 4x4s.
The annual Florida Four Wheel Drive Association Campout will be held January 12th thru 14th at the Lake Oklawaha RV Resort. Florida Four Wheel Drive Association, Inc., has reserved a section of the campground for this event.
