Happy New Year FLRC!!

I can’t believe it’s a new year. Where did 2005 go? I am not sure how many members have kids out there, but those that do realize time is the most precious commodity. I hope everyone had a very relaxing Holiday Season and found a new Rover toy or two under the tree. What kind of year was 2005 as far as the FLRC is concerned you ask? Well, let me tell you…..

The club had a great year. We held two incredibly successful rallies. We had some issues at the Spring Rally but the issues were almost a blessing in disguise. I say that because it made us put some needed practices and policies in place that we may have forgone a little longer. The events at the rally made us realize that to be a highly organized growing club, we had to get organized! We voted in new club By-Laws. We had several positive meetings with the Department of Forestry. We bought Medical Kits. We did two clean-ups. We donated to the American Red Cross. We did our second Toys for Tots toy drive. We joined Friends of the Forest. We transitioned the website to its new home and updated it thoroughly (By we, I mean Jonathan). Our relationship with our sponsors is great. Our membership is increasing. Some Charter Members came to the Rally’s after long absences. We voted in Hillary Squire to replace Tej Patel as Secretary. Hillary brings new blood to the BOD. I look forward to working with her and also getting to know both her and her husband Dave. I am very excited to have gotten so much accomplished in one year. And the best thing of all is that we have enough money in the bank to have another rally. Can I get a big YEEAAA HAWWW!!!

We will do our best to make 2006 just as good, if not better than 2005. I can assure you that the things we do, we will do with vigor and enthusiasm. Some items on this year’s agenda are as follows:

  • Fix Transfer Case (Anyone care to help? Come on Now!)
  • Purchase Club Gazebo Before Spring Rally (Once I find one, I will post for vote…My neighbor’s in the tent business, so I am looking to get a good size (20x20 or 20x30) vinyl tension tent/gazebo for a steal.)
  • Late January Richloam Run (TBA)
  • Palomino Rover Round Up (See board for info event waiver.)
  • March 4th, Richloam Clean Up
  • HowdMuhBeer Expedition II ( I haven’t gotten any word from Jake and Kaz, but I sure hope its on! I got a gnarly hole to tackle!!)
  • Spring Rally (tentatively April 21-23rd)
  • Maybe a trip out of state/Tellico? (Someone put together a Mid-Summer Trip and post months in advance)
  • September 9th, Richloam Clean Up
  • Fall Rally (October)
  • The Jones’ Annual Christmas Party (hehehehehe)
  • Toys for Tots
  • Elect New Officers for 2007 ( Anyone care to take the reigns? Want to be webmaster?)

  • Looks like its going to be another fun filled year. As usual there will be various local wheeling trips during the year. I look forward to seeing everyone out on the trails and at the upcoming events. If any one has any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. As always, wheel hard but in the right places.

    Happy Wheelin!!

    Mike
