Fall Rally 2005 Richloam!

Osceola Update

Fall Rally Info and General Updates:
Any body been wheelin lately? I surely hope so. Let me first say, I have NOT washed my rig since the Rally. Seats are mildewed, windows don't work, smells… well…!! I'm going try and not wash it till the after the Fall Rally. I'll win the dirtiest truck award. On to the good stuff.

Fall Rally….Richloam….October 28th-30th
First important topic of discussion is the time and place of this years Fall Rally. We will be having it this year in Richloam. It will be the weekend of October 28th - 30th. Once again, we have picked a perfect time right in between the hunting season therefore; we will be avoiding all hunters. We have permission to stay at a primitive campsite located within the forest. This will be very convenient to the trails with many good ones seconds away. We all know that primitive camping is not for everyone, so we will have alternative campgrounds with amenities available nearby. The Richloam folks are very hospitable and we appreciate their support. More info will follow as the Rally gets closer.

Changes at the upcoming Rally:
The officers feel it is important to make a few changes to the event schedule at the upcoming Fall Rally. We will be having two (2) mandatory drivers meetings. We will be inviting a Forest Ranger to attend each meeting and review the allowable areas to ride and what their expectations are. This will put everyone on the same page and we will all know where we can and can't ride. Attendance at one of these meetings is Mandatory! The meeting time will be 6:30 Friday night and 9:30 Saturday morning. We will also be doing some self-policing. We will have trail leaders. These folks will be responsible for the conduct of the others they are leading. If you violate the principles of "Tread Lightly" or forest rules, it will not be tolerated and you will be asked to return to camp. The trail leader will be responsible for making that decision. His/Her decision will be respected and supported by the officers. All we are trying to do is keep everyone happy and not get a reputation for being a destructive group. If we get that reputation, we will not have to worry about changes at the Rally's, because we will not have anywhere to go. Hope everyone agrees that these changes were inevitable.

Passing of the Club By-Laws:
For the past several weeks, we have given you the opportunity to vote on the inception of club By-Laws. The votes came in as an overwhelming yes. We will require everyone to sign the By-Laws at the next Rally. Here is a link to it for your review. The officers feel that the passage of the By-Laws will go along way towards maintaining and rebuilding our relationship with the Forestry Departments.

Medical Kits Passed the Club Vote:
The purchase of two (2) medical kits also received a yes vote. The med kits will be heavy duty first aid kits available for every member to use. We have not made the purchase yet, but will be doing so in the upcoming months. We will put policy and procedures in place to allow you, the members to check them out for you own trail rides. An example of some requirements we will put in place are that you have at least 3-4 trucks participating on the trail ride, that you pay for shipping of the kits to and from and you pay for replacement of any items you use. The Vice President will be in charge of inventorying the kits and making it available for your use. More details will follow once we make the purchase.

My Continued Commitment:
I am honored to be your president and will continue to do everything I can to make this club a safe, fun and respected club. The officers and I have been working hard to solidify our relationships with the Forestry Divisions and form a partnership with them. We are making head-way and will continue to do so.

As always, your comments are not only welcomed but needed. My new email address is below.

Wheel Hard, but IN the Right Places,

Mike
